College Day

After reading Jun Kit’s blog, I realised I was one of the few Arrowed from each class to go for college day last year! Witnessing the award presentation, hoping that there will be performances as it is College Day. Argh! But somehow, I think I said something like, “Next year this day, where will I be…”

I wanted to be back to collect award, but at that point of time, I didn’t think it was possible. I just looked at people with multiple awards with envy, especially those with 3As/4As and yet received regconition by their CCAs. Cause this would probably mean that they managed to balance their CCA as well as their studies. Even now, I still envy such people.

This visit to MJC should not be my last trip there, considering that I might still go back for Guitar Night 07, if there’s one. However, as I’ve said before, I didn’t think I would miss the school, at least not half as much as how I miss CCHS. When Denise mentioned about what is the one thing I missed most about MJC, it took me a long while to think through my answer. If you thought it was guitar, I’m sorry, I don’t miss it. Instead, I treasure it. I miss my first 3 months. Those genuine laughters. Even though we had cliques, we were close together. Interesting personalities kept the class spirit going strong. O4A102 (First 3 months) was probably the one aspect which I miss most from MJC.

Nevertheless, it felt good just to see the guitar people again. However, I must admit that I felt more distant away from them. To be frank to myself, I felt lost. I think I would have felt much better had I went for my Japanese class. That’s how I felt. I’m sorry, I know this shouldn’t be the feeling I should have, but it’s just happened this way. I can’t help it.

So I guess, it’s about time to move on, get out of my comfort zone and yup, maybe I will feel better.

Aftermath

Perhaps it’s all about perception. I suppose I shouldn’t compare CCHS with MJC. It’s 4 years against 2 years so I suppose it is not a fair gauge. I had enjoyed myself throughly in the first 3 months, as well as in the later stages of guitar. This experience really changed my perception of bonds, so much so that I felt teary whenever I listened to our SYF recordings. I left MJC with mixed feelings, had my share of fun laughter anger sadness. For that, I thank you, MJC.

Bleach Collectors Gum!

Haha, actually not gum la. Is a set of cards. Clear plastic, with 5 special cards. I have 22/25 cards! Argh! Short of just 3! It’s extremely hard to complete all 25, but well, there are people who managed that. Managed to line up a trade for one of the 3 cards next saturday, due to this saturday I have to go back MJC! Argh! Can’t wait to get my hands on the complete collection! Nice Desu!

Yup, that’s 60 bucks gone from my NDS Lite fund, but I think it’s worth it! It’s very nice la. When I’m free I shall post a nice nice picture up ok?

Pixel advertisements

As you have probably read, I’m saving for a NDS Lite. After selling my Zen Micro to a colleague for 120 SGD, my NDS Lite fund rose to 140 SGD, still a far cry from the 300 SGD target. And yup, share with you what happened when I sold my mp3 player ok.

Well, initialy, I’m just like saying I want to sell my mp3 player to my colleagues. I didn’t think that they would really be interested, however, buyer A happens to show real signs of enthusism. Therefore, after checking out the prices at hardwarezone.com forum, a 5gb is selling away at 170 bucks, therefore, I charge outsiders at 150 bucks, but charge insiders at 120 bucks. Logical isn’t it? Then I followed up by telling him what I can give him and what I can’t. After saying that I could not give him the original earphones, he asked me to sell it to the forum people instead. A day later, he said sell me 100 SGD la, then I buy from you. At that point, I know it is already mpossible to sell to buyer A. I mean, he is my colleague! I already slashed 30 bucks from 150 to 120 SGD. And he wanted to slash it even further! This is not the way you treat your friends or colleagues right?

And in come buyer D, also from my workplace. He enquired about my mp3 player, and was very satisfied with what he hear. I told him that I would giv him the audio techinca low end earphone, as what I also promised to buyer A, for the same price of 120 SGD. HE agreed. I went home and test out the earphone, and aahh! It’s faulty, probably due to long time never use. Therefore, I text messaged buyer D that I just charge him 100 bucks since I can’t fulfill my promise ma. But he said to just bring it over the next day. After showing him the player the next day, he handed me 100 bucks and said that he would give me the 20 bucks the following working day which is this Monday, when I said that he could take the player back and test it out, when he is satisfied with the product then he pay me. I’m pleased with how the product ended up with buyer D rather than buyer A for buyer D has a more solid character.

Don’t ask me why, but I really look out for people personalities from the way they handle stuffs. It’s easy to see who could make great friends and who are the ones that just care for their own well being.

Anyway, back to where I started, I’m still short of 160 bucks right, but I have got no more worthy products to sell, unless you are interested in a discman. Still in good condition! Haha. No la. I just wanted to share with you xiaxue’s blog regarding pixel advertisement. I think the person who originally thought of this idea is very innovative. Along my sidebars, which I have no access to add any new device into it, but I could come up with a page full of pixels under the pages collumn! Then sell it at around 1 dollar a pixel and minimum of 4 pixels to be purchased each time. Each deal will last for around 1 month to 6 months depending on the popularity. But given the declining number of visitors I get due to frequent changing of blog address, I don’t think it will be very popular hor? But seriously, kudos to the inventors of pixel advertisements!

Note: It is not easy putting the pixels into your blog. Trust me. But I’ll try, if I succeed, I teach you guys for a nominal fee ok? Haha, kidding la.

DS Lite

Yup, it’s been confirmed. I’m getting a DS Lite by end September, or maybe earlier, depending on when I could cough out 300 bucks. It has Wi-fii capability for multi player games, and thus, friends out there, buy a DS Lite instead! Why get a PS3 when it is so expensive and the last time I went over to your house, I remember there is no TV in your room. So why jostle with your family members over the TV? Yes, JK I am referring to you!

I give you people on why I chose the Nitendo DS Lite. Oh yah, Jonathan Soon got the DS Lite already! Firstly, as mentioned above, the NDS got Wi-fii function. Soon, it could use Opera to surf net in Wi-Fii accessible hotspots. Programmes could be put in it to make it a PDA. Though I don’t know how.

2 . It is a whole new gaming experience with NDS. Reason is simple. NDS actually has 2 screens, the top for normal gaming whereas the bottom one is a touch screen, like that of a PDA. It comes with a styllus and many games are played using the touch screen for selection. Definitely nothing you have ever tried before!

3. In terms of the long term cost, NDS definitely better than the PSP. PSP cost around 350+ for console and 1 game, as compared to the 299 for NDS Lite. Furthermore, 1 NDS Lite game cost around 39~69 whereas one PSP game cost around 69~89 bucks. Significant difference if you are the sort to buy one game a month.

4. NDS Games are more light hearted. It definitely suits me, someone who return home from a hard day’s work and just want to relax.

5. Compared to a TV console, it is much much cheaper than the xbox 360 and the upcoming PS3. It doesn’t make sense to invest so much money into a console which you are only going to touch once a week, considering the family watches TV at night, so there’s not gonna be any gaming time on weekdays.

6. Lastly, and very important, future pokemon versions will be under NDS Lite! Therefore, it is necessary to get a NDS Lite for Pokemon! Lame, childish, but Pokemon is really a very innovative game! There’s of course the all time popular mario, Bomberman, Soduku, Brain Age and stuff la…

With that, it sums up what I want to say. So now, in order to finance my impulse before it fades away, anyone want to buy my Zen Micro 4Gb? Selling at 150 to public and 120 to friends. Comes with usb charger, the original pouch, 1 original battery and throwing in my own audio technica headphone with no additional cost!

Yay! Finally went out with fellow ex-councillors. There’s a total of 3 generations. Mainly, the o2 batch, the o3 batch and the o5 batch. Argh! There’s a gap!? Anyway, it’s really nice to be around people like Arthur, Tiffany, Xiao Jun and co. At least they give me the platform to lame together after such a long time. I miss those times when lame-ness is widely accepted.

We went to eat steamboat @ Marina Bay. Wah, one of the helpers in one particular shop, with my last name in it, had a very unfriendly staff ok! If you are trying to pull customers to your eatery, please be polite as well as have patience. People will not make up their decision when you hurry them. In fact, it’s just the opposite. They will instead cross out your shop and go to another eatery since they are like just beside each other ok! Fortunately for them, a nicer uncle jioed us convincingly inside. As we ate, we waited for more arrivals. It’s good to have a car for convenience ya? Then we have people to ferry us to and fro the MRT station.

After which, we went for bowling. I was so excited! It’s been a long time since I bowled. And after watching the replays of Golden Bowl, I really wanted to bowl! But well, to bowl, you need people who are interested to “throw-your-money-into-the-drain” to bowl together ma. My scores are a pathetic 56 and 79 for game 1 and game 2 respectively! Haha! So sometimes, idol dramas are really for show.

After the bowling session, people still don’t want to go home despite over midnight. We were droven to Bedok, erm, some prata shop that sell 24 hrs prata. We went there to talk and chit chat la. Haha. I think I peng at 2 am in the morning. Well, they were discussing about Politics ma. Not classroom politics lor, but INTERNATIONAL politics, which I do not care about. Subsequently, I didn’t what they were talking le! Haha. We left at around 4 plus. Instead of joining them for a tour around CCHS, my favourite school of all time, they had to send me home first cause you now, I have over protective parents ma. Yup.

Really enjoyed the time out and yup, CCHS was probably the best decision I’ve made in my life yet.

Cosfest V – The Reunion

Firstly, please pardon me for the low quality shots. I tried to photoshop to make it better, but maybe it is made worse? Haha. Anyway, for a mountain turtle like me, this cosfest is definitely an eye opener. The anime scene in Singapore is getting warmer and I suppose in a few years time, cosfest will be more popular with the general public. Shall let the pictures do the talking ya.

There were quite a number of cosplayers there. Just think about it, not counting other animes, the entire bleach team was there! There was like 30+ people on stage during the bleach performance lor! There’s quite a number of good cosplayers this time round. They applied heavy make up, spent lotsa efforts in making their accessories and costumes. The cosplayers are so kawaii! Even the judges, well, 1 of them cosplayed in a maid’s uniform! Nice desu!

There will be 2 cosplayers who will be heading over to Japan in August to participate in their cosfest!

And woah, the atmosphere is so overwhelming that the emcee doesn’t know that he said “urenion”, rather than “reunion” which was this year’s theme. However, he done a great job in being the emcee! That’s why he was also the emcee for the previous 4 editions ma!

I took a total of like 130+ photos, but I’m only posting up 10 of the best shots. I felt like I’m doing an injustice to the bleach team as well as the 2 superb Naruto cosplayers by not capturing some nice photos of them. However, fret not! Try to look out for other blogs or forums where it might be hosted! Look out for yourichi! She’s sexy!

Had a great time there, considering I went alone and it is my virgin cosplay trip.
