Bowling!
June 20, 2008
Been quite some time since I last bowled. However, with the recent Facebook application that had been the rage in my working environment, we decided to go for the real thing. It was a very impromptu and last minute thing with them telling me at the start of work that we are going bowling tonight! Ok la, to be fair, actually there had been discussions on when to go bowling after work, just that I thought is say for fun de. Haha!
Anyway, had been a quite fruitful bowling session. Mainly is cause I’m leaving the company ma and therefore, it is likely going to be my first and last bowling session with them? Actually quite sad at the thought of leaving those wonderful people. But parting and adapting to a new environment is always part and parcel of life ma. Told myself not to get so attached to something be it dramas or whatsoever but I just can’t help it.
Anyway, I post a picture of our second game scores!
*Gasp* Bowled a score of 149 leh! Never ever in my life had I bowled past the 130 barrier! Now I’ve managed to hit 149 using a 11-pound ball when I normally use a 10-pound ball! And normally among my group of friends, bowling a 149 game should finish as the top bowler but look at Francis’s score! 163! Wah seh! So neglecting the first frame, looking at frames no. 2 to no. 6 you will find that for me, it is spare strike spare strike spare! Good right, but if you look at Francis score, it is also spare strike spare strike spare and on top of that he managed to surround it with another 2 spares! Haha! So exciting lor, thought I managed to set a standard there but he matched it every time and even went a step better! I think Li Juan, aka Francis’s girlfriend had a good game too. And of course not forgetting Ms Ong, she had a strike too!
So as shown, the above are the fantastic people who bowled together.
Some memories are created and meant to cherish…
Games
August 11, 2007
Games are like fashion. They come and go. Some games are like the colour Black and White. They never goes out of fashion. They are just not the “in” colour then. Those games are probably like Counterstrike,DOTA . I don’t see the dateline for them. Definitely not within the next few years. They are extremely hard to replace. Counterstrike had been around ever since I was in like Primary 6, but I only got hooked on it when I’m in Sec 2. During sec 3, due to the splitting of classes, the clique of friends that I’ve been playing CS with sort of got busy with our own stuff and therefore, we’ve stopped.
After CS, the next game I got hooked on was Gunbound. You know, those mobile that shoot out power and stuff? I played that till I got a Golden battle axe plus and I realise it’s about time to stop that game. Perhaps it was because toomany people are cheating with aimbots or hacking into other people account. However, I suppose the final straw was that it was never easy to find a game whereby teams are evenly matched.
Thank goodness I don’t indulge in role playing online game like Maple story, Ragnarok and World of Warcraft. Therefore, the next game to get me hooked on was DOTA. It was like everyone was playing it, so why not give it a shot kind of mentality? And so I gave it a shot and well, I sorta grew tired of it since I could only own using 1 single character on good days.
Then come the present. The world of using strategy. The 3G army generation. Wa rga me! No, not my unit but Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium War! I’ve been playing it for a few months now but only lately I’ve been so engrossed in playing online game. I’m not talented or gifted with the game in terms of thinking of strategies. Therefore, I usually let others think the strategy and after watching them online, get awestruck by them and I try to incorporate them into my own game. After months of on and off playing, I’ve finally gotten the general rank! A 1 star general! However, it is only rank 13 out of rank 80+ la. So it;s no big deal just that star looks nicer than stripes la.
I don’t know how long will this game last me, probably at least till starcraft 2 comes out and then they will probably battle out amoung themselves which one will exist and which one not. I’ve stated that they are not exactly similar in terms of game play, however, they both require strategic thinking. I can’t imagine someone who play Starcraft 2 and the next day he play command and conquer. That seems wrong. Somehow, I feel that Tiberium war has the upperhand and it is up to them to lose it.

Pokemon Fever!
April 20, 2007
Ahh, after waiting for 8 months it’s finally here! 20% why I bought NDS Lite is because Pokemon is coming over to NDS! Even though Pokemon sound kiddy, but it is really a fun and interactive games suited more for adults. I mean, kids won’t be thinking so much into which type of pokemon could counter which type and so on. At least I don’t when I was playing last time!
Ahh, can’t wait to get my hands on it! But the release date is Sunday, though probably tomorrow will be the unofficial release date in shops. A couple of my friends bought NDS Lite too! Therefore, in my unit, there will be a grand total of 4 person owning NDS Lite! Ownage!
Trade here trade there.
Haha. Tomorrow is a good day!
Tiberium War!
April 7, 2007
These past few days, I’ve been busying myself with Command and Conquer 3, Tiberium War, and thus explaining the lack of posts recently. It is very nice, especially if your friends bought the game as well. Because if your friends bought the game as well, we could all play together!
It’s good la, however, my graphics card and com specs just fit the requirement and therefore, all settings are set to lowest! Argh! So if you want to get the game just so to play an online network game together with me, (blush) please make sure that your com specs are elligible to play the game! Something like a 2.0 ghz, 512mb ram, at least a 5500 geforce graphics card, 5gb hard disk and a dvd rom are needed. For optimum gameplay, of course it is better to have something like a 4 ghz dual core, 8000 geforce graphic card, 300 gb hard disk, etc. No idea if those exist on the market not though. ^^
It’s fun la. And requires much thinking! Shall research on some strategies now!
DS Lite
July 19, 2006
Yup, it’s been confirmed. I’m getting a DS Lite by end September, or maybe earlier, depending on when I could cough out 300 bucks. It has Wi-fii capability for multi player games, and thus, friends out there, buy a DS Lite instead! Why get a PS3 when it is so expensive and the last time I went over to your house, I remember there is no TV in your room. So why jostle with your family members over the TV? Yes, JK I am referring to you!
I give you people on why I chose the Nitendo DS Lite. Oh yah, Jonathan Soon got the DS Lite already! Firstly, as mentioned above, the NDS got Wi-fii function. Soon, it could use Opera to surf net in Wi-Fii accessible hotspots. Programmes could be put in it to make it a PDA. Though I don’t know how.
2 . It is a whole new gaming experience with NDS. Reason is simple. NDS actually has 2 screens, the top for normal gaming whereas the bottom one is a touch screen, like that of a PDA. It comes with a styllus and many games are played using the touch screen for selection. Definitely nothing you have ever tried before!
3. In terms of the long term cost, NDS definitely better than the PSP. PSP cost around 350+ for console and 1 game, as compared to the 299 for NDS Lite. Furthermore, 1 NDS Lite game cost around 39~69 whereas one PSP game cost around 69~89 bucks. Significant difference if you are the sort to buy one game a month.
4. NDS Games are more light hearted. It definitely suits me, someone who return home from a hard day’s work and just want to relax.
5. Compared to a TV console, it is much much cheaper than the xbox 360 and the upcoming PS3. It doesn’t make sense to invest so much money into a console which you are only going to touch once a week, considering the family watches TV at night, so there’s not gonna be any gaming time on weekdays.
6. Lastly, and very important, future pokemon versions will be under NDS Lite! Therefore, it is necessary to get a NDS Lite for Pokemon! Lame, childish, but Pokemon is really a very innovative game! There’s of course the all time popular mario, Bomberman, Soduku, Brain Age and stuff la…
With that, it sums up what I want to say. So now, in order to finance my impulse before it fades away, anyone want to buy my Zen Micro 4Gb? Selling at 150 to public and 120 to friends. Comes with usb charger, the original pouch, 1 original battery and throwing in my own audio technica headphone with no additional cost!
